Thanks for all of your kind thoughts. I was fishing and for no reason decided it was time to quite. I got out of the creek and just finished putting my gear in the car when I started to feel a slight pain in my chest. Then wham I broke out into heavy sweat water was pouring out of me. I drove home about 12 or 15 min, and just made it. Collapsed into a chair told my wife to get me asprin that I thought I was having a heart attack. Total blockage of an artery. DR said if I had waited I would not have made it. I still have two other blockages but they think they can manage them with meds.

Please use this story as a reality check. One of the reasons heart attacks become fatal is because folks having them tend to be in complete denial.

I had a client out on a creek a couple of months ago. He stepped on a slick rock and slipped down to his butt. After that he started having shoulder and back tightness. He then began having some chest tightness and pain breathing. He was sure that he had pulled a muscle when he slipped. I took him back to the truck and gave him an aspirin and said, "Let's just be safe and get this checked out."

The reality is, this can happen to anyone. Don't be in denial. Don't try to be Superman. Just go get evaluated.

Glad you guys shared this story and glad Lou is going to be around to fish again.

Sounds like you're recovering just fine. Best wishes. We'll have to get out this fall.

Maybe he shouldn't be fishing the LL anymore with all those women in jogging suits going by?

Too much work. And every TU meeting seemed to land on a business trip or a trip to get my son from college. Haven't tied a fly in year and a half. Did get some hunting in last year though. Plan a week on Penns in Sept.

Good thing it was the Perk. You might not have made it home from the LL.
