Hello all,
I'm new to the South East PA area (Lancaster county). I'm looking for a place to do a hike-in 3 day fishing trip. I'm ok with driving a few hours. So, I'm looking for a quiet place with good fishing where camping (and camp fires) is allowed. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

I would think your best shot is/are wilderness trout streams.

Google earth is your friend. A friend and I have been using it to find hard to reach class a's and wilderness streams.

also, dail up the PA DCNR and have them send you the collection of state forest maps, they show plenty of trails, creeks, access, etc.

Sullivan and Lycoming county are good bets, lots of State forest land to hike and camp in and nice streams.

When I was in college, a friend and I did a week hike in on Hammersley Fork just below Cross Fork in Potter county. Once you get away from civilization, the fishing was excellent for wild browns and brookies. Have not fished it for 25 years, so things may have changed.

Balck Forest Trail, you can hike along the trail and reachseveral streams if you do it right. You'll want to fish early in the morning and late in the day save the mid day for hiking. Don't plan on hiling long distances, it will ware you out so you won't want to fish.
