Is It Me Or Has SEPA Turned Into A Wind Tunnel?

It seems everytime I want to fish I need to check the wind conditions first. Wanted to do a little Easter Monday fishing but they are calling for constant wind between 20 and 30 MPH with gusts of over 40MPH. When I was fishing the Meadows at the Octorara Easter Saturday I needed a bazooka to get my wooly bugger into the deep pools in the section where there is no stream side tree cover. I don't know if it is global warming but it just seems to both the Prof and me that wind is increasingly getting stronger in SEPA.

Fade, winds were just as bad in Centre County. Fish were rising to dry flies but getting a good cast to them proved very challenging.

Yeah, part of that is time of year though...temps are warming, but there are still relatively powerful cold fronts that come through...even if they don't bring a lot of precip they usually still bring wind. This usually stops by late April/early May when we settle in to more of a classic Summer like pattern...warm fronts from the south bringing the big rains, and relatively weak cold fronts from the NW bringing the T-storms.

I agree, it's windy though. Seems like every Sunday night/Monday morning too...trash night in my neighborhood...

Try to find a stream on the leeward side of a ridge...even a relatively small hill usually will do enough to cut most of the wind.

Fire warnings in April due to high winds and lack of rain. Dryer than a popcorn f@rt out there right now. Once you get out of the wind there's not even enough water to get your ankles wet. massive flooding last year to drought like conditions this year. What a bummer.

been using a 6wt. for the past 2 weeks. wind and cold and now possible snow showers through the week. 40 mph ? we have 50-60 here at times, best time to skitter a musky fly across the surface. LOL.

What's crazy to me, is that your wife had to tell you to grab the 8wt.

What's crazier is that she actually knew what an 8wt was!

What we really need is a few days of (not in a row) steady soaking rain, the kind that gets down into the ground instead of heavy downpours that simply run off. I am very concerned for many of our wild streams this year. As mentioned, after the floods of last year and drought (looks like it) this year, things look pretty bad. Sorry for side tracking from OP.
