At this years Jamboree, I was the lucky winner of a two night stay with one of the PaFlyFish site sponsors, Harman's (www.wvlogcabins.com). My wife and I stayed there Sunday and Monday nights July 15 and 16. We had a marvelous time. The cabins truly are luxurious with AC, satellite TV (flatscreen), hot tub, jacuzzi, fireplace, and full kitchen.
![]() ![]() ![]() The North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac flows through the property. Unfortunately this water was too warm for the trout while I was there, the remaining trout were seeking thermal refuge where a cool spring entered the creek. I was able to get the smallmouth bass to take poppers in the evenings. ![]() ![]() I fished Seneca Creek on Monday. The water was very low and clear, but pleasantly cool. I didn't get a temp, but I'd guess low 60s. The creek is teaming with mostly small wild rainbows and a few native brookies. They were especially fond of caddis dries. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tuesday my wife and I did some biking near the Dolly Sods wilderness before returning home. ![]()

They did have cicadas here in June. Brood I will return in 2029. I heard a few in the trees but didn't see any. The smallmouths wouldn't take my cicada imitation like they did a rubber-leg popper.

How did your wife like it? Keep her entertained?
Thinking of taking the wife and kids in the spring.

Ryan,
My wife had a really nice time. She had a book she was into and that gave me opportunity to fish a little each day. The cabins are really nice, and she will not be "roughing it". Its a bit of a drive to restaurants (maybe 20 minutes), so either bring food or plan time to drive.

I've fallen in love with Elk Springs but that surely looks appealing.
Neat cabins.
