Impressive!
I wonder how long that fish was in the lake.

He's lucky it was a leap year this year. If he would have caught 1 day later, it would have had to been released.
I agree with the above. Photograph the hell out of it, measure it, release it, and get a replica mount. Seems like a waste to me....

Thats like seeing pics of guys holding a big musky infront of his garage or at a tackle shop. Nine chances outta 10 he isnt gonna eat it. And these big fish doesnt matter what the species. Takes so long to grow to that size.

There was a state record brown trout some years ago that came from that pool.
Personally, I wouldn't begrudge the guy keeping his trophy. The trout fishery in Raystown is supported by fingerling stocking and there is not known to be significant natural reproduction. An old fish like this probably would not be caught again (although in the river this would be much more likely). Although I prefer to release wild trout, I think I would have kept this fish and mounted him. On the other hand, if released, in a couple more years he might have reached record size.....although in the river I think such growth would have been less likely than up in the lake. Whatever - a personal decision.

There was a 32+ incher caught here in the Cumberland Valley a few weeks ago. Picture showed it bleeding slightly from the gills behind a house, but I was told by the shop owner it was put in the Goldfish pond and then re-released into the stream alive and kickin?
Whatever the case, massive, massive, (and wild looking) fish.

Im suprised that someone else didn't get ahold of that pic and say it was caught at the Letort or Spring Creek on a size 32 zebra midge with a 1 wt on the first cast. Lol

I have caught a few from that area while walleye fishing. They werent anywhere near that size, 4 lbs average and they were all pale like that and no color to them. I think its just because how deep they go in that pool and in the lake.

Where are you guys fishing on Spring that 7lb browns live? I have yet to get a 20" brown out of Spring. Every one I catch seems to be 11 3/4". I have had multiple big rainbows though. I feel seriously cheated on the brown trout size from that stream. When I fished it daily, I felt like I heard of 20"ers from the benner stretch every other week. Maybe in 2 weeks when I go for a 3 day weekend I will run into one(finally).

Wow!
I can understand why the fish was kept, but it is a shame it was measured, weighed, photographed and released to make another fisher-person's day. Haven't seen something that size since I was up to the Salmon River last year! Dave
