check out the dailyitem.com. This story seems alittle weird. I live on that section of water and they make it sound like its really swift there. Its super calm and everyone swims there

Wet street clothes don't give someone much of a fighting chance. Particularly wet jeans. They'll take you right down. Toss in a lack of swimming/survival skills and it's a recipe for disaster.

Story seems completely fishy. I'd hope they really questioned this "friend" of his.

Terrible news. That sounds hair raising... surprising to me with how low the water in Penns has been lately. Every once in a while I hear a story like this that reminds to be careful.

I was going to say that river is so low, it would be tough to drown. If he slipped, hit his head and went face first, that would make sense. You can drown in 6" of water if that were the case. I was slipping all over with spikes on. I can't imagine the footing in sneakers.

you can drown in a 1/4" of water , I agree with Krayfish, all it takes is to slip and hit your head or break your neck during the fall...possibly be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Also if the water is cold he could have suffered from Hypothermia too.
A lot of factors to consider besides Foul play. Maybe they can figure this out since no one can find Gricar.

At the end of the Pardee Rope pool the creek turns and hits a wicked stretch of white water and the entire length of the pool gets deep real quick from this side. I've always been leery of fishing there, seems my worst fears came true for this fellow. RIP.

Ya, I agreed. I would rule out foul play and assume he was was on meth, fell, down in 1/4" of water and froze to death in Penns.

Why make assumptions about the deceased?

The news story is very poorly written, thus it's hard to tell who said what.
