Well, I achieved one of my goals for 2012. Slightly bittersweet, cause its a holdover and not wild, but I was still pumped about the fish. It being the first fish of 2012 only adds to the excitement. I am embarrassed I havent had one on the line yet, but work and lack of trout fishing in close proximity has made this year slightly more difficult than the previous years.

Nice brookie hold Over or not still an awesome fish. Now you need to work for the trifecta in one trip (brook/brown/bow) only ever did it once on the upper Delaware haha.

it's great to catch a fish in the winter ... if you can do that the fishing will only get better as the water warms up

This "winter" doesn't really count!

I can't believe how mild it's been and how many "fishable" days there have been this winter!

It is a mild winter, but the water temps can still be on the low side... Few days back I caught a wild brown on a dry fly in 42 f water.... In say 55 f water, there would probably be more fish ready to hit dries..

I'd say that it'd be enough to make me consider double-posting!
