I drove by today and talked to a kid that was passing out flyers in front of the store. They will doing a soft opening tomorrow and Thursday at 8 am. I got the flyer and they have some good promotions going over the grand opening weekend. I will definitely stop in on Friday on the way home from work and if I have enough energy I might come back on Saturday for prizes.

Serious branding problems for them from my perspective. I did buy some of their products back in the day, when I didn't seek out high quality American made outdoors products, and their house brand products performed horribly for me.

That logo means steer clear to me at this point in time. Might as well burn your money if you buy most of their products, in my opinion.

A lot of people won't shop at Dicks because of how they caved on the guns issue recently.

If it isn't just a Southeast Asian trade show, I may buy goods there that are quality.

Anybody else care about the TV ad they're running showing a kid lifting a stringer full of over-sized fish out of a stream? If nothing else it shows they don't know the sport well enough to know that catch and release if generally accepted now and is necessary in many areas to support a sport fishery. In the meantime the background music is "America the Beautiful" The should've changed the lyrics to "From sea to empty sea"

Looked like catfish to me. Guess I didn't really care even if it sort of goes against the catch and release ethos. It's a TV commercial afterall - the whole thing is like some sort of outdoors fantasy.

I may show up this weekend for the grand opening just to check it out. My father in law is a huge duck dynasty fan and he heard one of the guys will be at the grand opening. I didn't see it on the flyer though.

Not sure what kind of fish... most watching won't know anyway. Just kind of irks me a little that Dicks didn't take the higher road... out of ignorance of their marketing people, producers, or just plain not caring.

+1 for international angler. I'm not from that area, but I've been in a few times and they've been great. Support your local fly shop.

If any of you guys are going, stop into the Rio section and say hi to my buddy David Bond and his new wife Heather Seitz. O and Loren Williams will be there. Ask Bond where his kilt is, tell him I sent ya. Lol
