This will be my 4th JAM. Every one is better than the last. What's your favorite part?


The fishing is great, even if it sucks. It's nice to hit some streams I can't typically fish even if they're at flood stage.

The pavilion talk is probably the best part IMO. Meeting new people, catching up with friends, telling stories, and what not is just awesome. Met some great people over the years that have taught me a lot and have become some good friends.




Just one tip for those of you who are new to the JAM. If a guy named Albatross tries to give you directions, run real fast!



Look forward to seeing everyone in a little over 2 weeks!

In all seriousness, I'm sure for me it will be putting faces with names, and getting to hang out with a bunch of you guys. Fishing will be a sideshow and a bonus.

I'll post a sign-up sheet for my wild trout (goose) chase. If we get no takers, I may do an evening snipe hunt...

For me its meeting everyone! I had a blast at the Newbie Jam so this one is really gonna ROCK ! I can't wait.

I talked with Dwight (Troutbert) Landis this week and he is all set to speak Friday night at 10:00 PM. Besides be wonderful contributor to the site, Dwight is best known for his book, Trout Streams of Pennsylvania: An Angler's Guide. A book I taken with me on all my trips since it came out 20 years ago.

Dwight will be speaking about Spring Creek on Friday night. His local expertise on the topic will be a something not to be missed. In addition to the sharing some of the best methods to the stream, Dwight will cover some of the history, tributaries and the newly opened Spring Creek Canyon of the stream.

I am looking forward to his presentation and snipe hunting with Alby.

Seriously, though, the social scene on Sat. night with meeting people, talking, beer, and music.

Always seemed ashame that I also feel like I have to give fishing a serious try, which means fishing late Saturday night, and missing half the fun.

this will be my first Spring Jam also. Im sure besides the fishing one of the best things about the weekend will be meeting everyone, putting real names/faces with online names. I also hope to be able to get some pointers from some of the wealth of knowledge that will be there. Any helpful tips and hints on technique would seriously be appreciated!!!

I usually fish until dark. And by the time I get back to the campground, and have some dinner, I always seem to miss a lot of the evening festivities.

So I really enjoy the morning coffee chit chat.
Kinda miss gathering at Pauls camper for that when the jam was held at hemlock acres.

That was always my favorite part of the Jam, having the coffee get together at my place.

I'm going to try my best to make the Jam this year, just not sure yet, still having some problems. I've only ever missed two of them and would love to be there.

My favorite part of the one Jam i went to , the last one at Hemlock Acres , WAS PaulG's coffee get together Sunday morn and getting to put faces to the personalities from here , great bunch of folks and very welcoming to this stranger.

The meeting and fishing with board members is good stuff...but Saturday night with Shakey is just awesome. The best part of the trip for me!
