Sad to see the season come to an end. Reports were so bad this spring I never made it back up. Bummer. Thanks for all the reports.

Tracker, You really shouldnt take any of these reports to heart. We have fished elk just within the last 3 weeks and had a blast. Obviously the fish aren't packed in every hole but they are there. A little walking and patients goes a long way. The first day at elk we fished 4 hours and landed 5 fish each. The second day we went for fish to keep and bring home for dinner and within 5 hours all 3 of us had our limit and headed home. My largest was only 31 inches but fed the family for the night. I seen people there fishing for an hour and packing up and leaving mad. Saying this is the worst year yet. We fished the same hole throwing everything we had and once we found the peach sucker spawn was the ticket we pulled 4 fish out of that same hole and it worked everywhere we fished. We even caught them on pieces of night crawler just to see if they hit it.
In my opinion this site is great for reports. But if someone has a bad day then reports on the negative parts of the day and not the positive of being up there and enjoying the day what can we learn from their trip. NOTHING!! My report: Elk was a little low and a bit cloudy. Fish were hard to locate by visual means so a little patients is needed. Fish were found on the back sides of logs, large rocks and bridge piers. Afternoon fishing was very slow if not dead to us. Morning and evening fishing treated our group well. If you like smolt then you will have the time of your life. The peach sucker spawn was the key to our success and even pieces of night crawler worked too! There was a small hole near the sewage treatment plant on elk that housed many fish. Nobody fishing there, we had the place to our selves. Also we went down to the flats the last day we were there and couple of the guys located and caught numerous fish. I hope everyone who made it up to erie this year had the same good time that we did. Here is to an end of a challenging season. Hope the next season is more abundant with fish and fishermen. Too all who fish - Good luck and God Bless!
