Welp, went out to cool spring creek in mercer county yesterday being that I had off work. Hooked into one rainbow, but it was so cold. Ice had formed closer to the banks, and my rod, ringlets, and reel completely froze up at times. I know there are some products you can buy to prevent freeze ups but I think the better idea is to pack up shop and hold out for spring. To all you guys who are still going out best of luck. That's why I went out on Jan 1, it was bitter yesterday. The NW wind was brtual.

Yep, im done till spring. Creeks near me are full of ice, not worth fishing. The skiing is good though!

I focus only fly fish on spring creeks when I get the case of cabin fever. I now fish only on days when the temps are above freezing. I will also spin fish water water discharges from power plants for smallies.
