I've been seeing a lot of ants around, being a terrestrials fisherman I'm always looking for them.

Might be something to keep in mind!

On thursday, I had fish rising to my foam ant. I didnt see any around but I thought I'd give it a go. The trout are ready for them!

Paul - most any sunny day in winter brings out ants. This unseasonable non-winter had me ffishing ants with considerable success for the last month. Even a small cricket worked some, although I wonder if it was confused for an emerging black stone fly.

Yesterday, my 2 best trouts were on a red ant at dusk, which was a bit strange. I usually think of terrestials during the mid-day. This is true all year, especially in summer.
