I had some time at the end of my day yesterday to stop at the only local Fly Shop in the Lehigh Valley, but the store was gone. So we no longer have the Sporting Lifestyle either. I hope someone gets it right.

I know it's not a Lehigh Valley shop, but I have visited the Evening Hatch 2 times this week for the first time, and I love it. Only about 20 minutes away from Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Lehighton.

No clue were it is but it isn't near me. I refuse to fight the crowds at Cableas.

Evening Fly shop is right off the Pocono Exit of the Turnpike, where you get on 80.

Good people at the Evening Hatch, good to TU as well. I always stop in there whenever I'm fishing in the White Haven area or heading further out 80 West.

Usually helps to have your money man not doing time in club fed for RICO offenses, y'know?

They were supposedly moving to somewhere off Airport Rd or somewhere around some exit from rt33, but I know nothing else.

Nor do I care.

I haven't been into the Evening Rise yet, but I've ordered things from them over the phone. They've been great each time. Really friendly people they have working the phone over there.

While I've bought things from the Evening Hatch at the Somerset show, today was the first time I was actually in their shop. Nice, well stocked fly shop, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

Makes you wonder how a shop like that can survive in the middle of nowhere, but we can't seem to keep one in the Lehigh Valley.

Isn't there an LL Bean store in the Allentown area?

There is an LL Bean at the Prominade shops in Saucon Valley off of 309 south, but they don't have alot for fishing. I haven't been there in a while, had mostly everything but fly fishing stuff. It could have changed though. It was mostly clothing and kayaking/biking/hiking gear.

Yeah - I was pretty disappointed with the Bean store that opened near me a few years ago. Very little fly gear in stock

There is, and they're right.. No tying to speak of. Black thread and a few kits is about it.

THey have a full line of Bean brand gear, plus plenty of bulk flies, but that's it... On the other hand, the staff is friendly, they offer an awesome FREE 26 week tying course and there's some goon on their casting pond who turns out is a pretty decent dude.

Its a lifestyle store, to be sure, but if you want something that Bean makes, its probably grade A gear with a no questions asked walk in warranty.

Based upon the information we were given, how likely do you think that is to happen?

You shouldn't talk about George like this - after all he's taught you.

From some people I talked to, he should be opening his new site in February.
I heard the new place is going to be in the shopping center where Sam's Club is off of RT 33. I haven't gone over there to see if he is setting up shop. If I do, I will let you guys know.
