I know I should... But this is seriously just a small soft-bottomed stream. I managed to find the only sizable rock to fall on.

Jay,

That reminds me of when im fishing in a meadow and there is only one little tree about 50 ft back of me. I always manage to hook that darn thing

How many of you have torn waders the first day you ever used them. Happened to me once with a brand new pair of neoprene waders I bought for steelhead fishing.

It's Ok though. those waders made me look fat anyway.

I fell a couple of monthes back and ended up injuring the arch of my foot. I finally decided to go to an orthopedic doctor and ends up I have a turf toe type injury. 5 1/2 months ago, physical therapy and still suffering the effects. The good news is I can still get my boot on over my stocking foots. I am reluctant however to be wading in the frigid erie tribs with it mid winter. Goog luck to you and I hope you heal better/faster than I am.

All you little girlie men... afraid to wet wade and stub your toes... Just kidding.

If you want to experience the ultimate in wet wading come on out to the Big Horn. All that goey, smelly gawd awful mud is reall a wonderful mixture of cow pie and cow pee. We all just try to not think about it as it squishes between our toes.

One of my guys fell in that sweet stuff wearing a brand new, over 80 bucks, fishing shirt. It was stained forever and had to be thrown out.

Jay, make sure you get better just in case I make it back to Pa this winter. I need a steelie guide!!!

You might think you know where everything is in your favorite water, then your mind wonders as you see a rise and the next thing you know you end up hurt. We hit the Erie tribs until they freeze over and it's always sliding on ice, felts caked with snowballs, sliding down snow covered trails. and yet knowing all the crap you go through and what a slip or fall might do, we always find ourselves back in the water presenting to a trout.

I was wet wading my favorite smallmouth river one time with my old pair of Orvis packable wading boots, the ones that were more or less just a canvas shoe with a felt sole, and I came across on of those areas where there was a slab of concrete along shore among the rocks, leaned at about a 45 degree angle. me, being the idiot that I am, figured i could step on it with one foot and not slide, instead I slid down and rammed the ball of my ankle joint against a rock. I didn't break anything, but it seriously hurt.
Another time I was fishing with my father when he fell and hit his left wrist hard enough that it knocked the pins out of his Wenger watch where the straps attatch to the watch itself.
I think the worst was when I fell fishing Slippery Rock Creek and broke my Winston rod the first time I had it out...

X-rays, three doctors, and a number of tests, and this thing is still purple and oozing.

Wish me luck. Another round of tests and a new doctor before christmas.
