This is VERY positive news. I begin Clarithromycin treatment tonight. I have always been interested in this stuff, but it kind of sucks being a human petri dish.

Good luck. And stay out of rehab. Clarithromycin has been known (as has amoxicillin) to cause false positives on urine screenings for Bolivian Marching Powder...:)

Good luck Jay. I'm glad you have been aggressively pursuing a solution.

I had a skin infection go into my bloodstream after wet wading a few years ago (I still argue with my wife over whether wading was really the cause). I ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics. The first antibiotic didn't work, the second gave me a rash, but the third one did the trick.

Many thanks everyone.

Here ya go Fred

I met flybop for a brief stream walk (ok, a few casts and a few fish too). He gave me the moose drool, so now the medical world will never know if it's the horse pills or the beer that heals this thing.

Funky looking scar with lots of nasty scab. It just closed two days ago.

Doing well. I hope to have my last visit with the infection doc next week.
