hahaha! You know, I could have saved up and bought a new rod and reel many times over by now, but I just never saw the need! It is what it is. When I'm not using that rod and reel, I use my Fenwick w/ a Medalist

I think low end gear is underrated by some; I just ordered two Okuma reels this week, plus i was fishing on Sun with my old Medalist reel and a $15 Eagle Craw featherlight.

I use what I can afford, and if it works well with me, I tend to never replace it until needed!

if you don't think people don't peruse this forum to learn where to fish, you need to really sit down and reassess your intelligence. they absolutely do, and if you ask every stranger you meet you'll find plenty who "have accounts and just don't post" or the like. enter that into your personal thoughts on arguing over spot burning however you'd like, but if you think that only the same 80-90 people who populate this thing are the people who read it and siphon off the information you share, then you're a fool. i assure you of the forty-seven anonymous users right now, at most 4 are spiderbots and probably 35 of them are guys who are just trying to figure out where to go fish today or tomorrow. tomorrow's 30-40 lurkers? chances are only a small percentage of them are the same ones as today's lurkers. your words spread far wider than you realize, and most people don't care to enter into a rathole of discussion when they can just skim the info they want and move on with their lives.
