WOW! I had to share this. I found these two hanging out in the back yard yesterday. BLUGH! What an ugly face!

Upon finally calming down. Hey I was a little freaked out! these things are over 5 inches long! they are Hickory Horned Devils, or "Royal Walnut Moth" catapillars! Never saw 'em before.

And luckily I saw them when I did, because they were roughly face high when I'm mowing under that tree. I' of shat the seat of my tractor!

I was looking for a pattern that flipnfly ties to match your massive green weenie. I came across this tying video instead. Might be the best tying video EVER!

They'll destroy a tomoato plant on short order as I found in in years past. Now I look for them routinely and stop them inhumanely. There's a type of wasp that will lay eggs on them that will stop them inhumanely as well.

I found 8 eight of these big bast@rds on my tomato plants in 2 days, from 3-5 inches long, nasty things. About 5 of them had little ricelike protrusions on them-wasp larvae, you should see that! And they're strong, have to really pull hard to get them off of the plants.

the pattern he speaks of is called the wuzzy worm it uses black

thread a charteuse tentacle from a fuzzy wuzzy duster and

brown hen hackle wooly bugger grade tie and glue the body

down as you would chinelle there will be 2 little strings tack the

end down with knot sense then make 3 or 4 wraps of hackle trim

the tops off using the bottom portions for legs and make a black

thread head

ohh yea something like a size 8 hook 2 xl should be sufficient it was originally a bass pattern and was in i think it was fly tyer or fly fisherman but cant seem to find it
