Yesterday I hit a pretty strong hatch of Blue-winged Olives, about size 18. It's not unusual for them to be on this time of year. But they started so early this year, and people have been seeing March Browns for quite a while now, so I was surprised to see so many BWOs still hatching.

The hatches started extremely early, but it seems like they are stretched out, hatching over a longer period than most years.

It's always good to have BWOs in your fly boxes, of course, all year long.
