Justin,
I wasn't complaining. I was trying to point how how quick the entire order was being shipped. I am extremely happy with the service that you provided and really did not care that it was a split order.

Ordered an 8wt blank from Allen a few weeks ago. Came quickly. No issues with delays, etc.

Will let you guys know how the rod casts/etc once it is finished.

If I'm as happy about it as others seem to be with their Allen rods, I'll likely be ordering a 6wt or 7wt blank and a 5wt blank when they come back in.

I put an order in like not even a week ago. Now i didnt receive it yet which is fine not complaining at all. More excited to see the reel I got but if they keep up with the feedback like they do then there company isn't going to have a problem at all. Evan was fast with the reply's.

Just a little update on some good service from Allen Fly Fishing. I was fishing on Saturday, took a nasty spill, and my Allen Trout 3/5 reel smashed up against a rock and dented the frame of the reel into the spool. Didn't turn at all. I sent Justin from Allen an email when I got back explaining the situation and he mailed me out a brand new reel on Monday. I should get it any day now. Add another satisfied customer to the growing list for Allen Fly Fishing!

llen offered a double taper flyline,I already use a Rio Windcutter from size 4,5,and 6 as my wf line.and i do prefer double taper lines, the windcutters are for breezy days when it seems a double taper is having trouble.
So how about a double taper line in say either a bright orange or a Chartrueuse color for line weights 3, 4 , 5, and 6.
I have seen their hooks and they are dead ringer Tiemco's and for that price and quality hook i say guys buy em out,you wont see prices like that for Tiemco hooks.
Tight Wraps & Tight Lines
Rick Wallace
as for hooks if they ever get their hooks in the TMC 2499 spbl model i will be buying them by the thousand.

How did you explain your situation?

I told the truth. Said I took a nasty spill and slammed my reel against a rock. He had no problem in sending a new one out.

Finally got my Alpha 3/4 reel. Haven't strung it up yet but I can say I'm impressed with the reel for the price. Can't wait to use it this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to give more feedback once I use it. Otherwise, good looking reel and great service from Allen.

I have the 9/10 and it is pretty sweet. Loaded 9wt sharkskin on it with tons of backing and a 10'6" 9wt St Croix. Tested the drag by attaching the line to my 9 year old and then told her a bee was coming. Worked out well.

I think this should be the new standard for testing drags.

Darn it! So you're saying I have to wait a little over 8 years to really test out the drag on my reels! lol

p.s. I also have an Alpha 9/10 that I'm hoping to test out in the fall on some salmon and steel.
