I came across this pattern while looking for others.
http://www.flytyingforum.com/pattern6733.html What on earth would you possibly use it for other than lunker largemouth perhaps? Gators??

That's all well and good but isn't the point of a show fly to be a realistic tie that could be used?

I got directions on painting the mona lisa from the man himself, and they were very similar.
Sharing the secrets ruins the art imo.

I love the challenge of tying realistic flies and think I'm half decent with a paintbrush but.....I gotta say some of these things are just ridiculous and carry the art way beyond what I would consider "flies."
