I just got a pack of jig hooks from Allen Fly Fishing, just to see what it's all about.
I know the basics, tie them "In the round" blah blah. But what's everyone's favorite flies to tie on them? I was just gonna do a few standards like pheasant tails, hare's ears, etc. Go!

I just got a red fox pelt and have been tying fox nymphs on size 8's. With a rather large tungsten bead sized for the hook. They really look like great fish catchers, I just hope the trout feel the same way.

That's the other size I have, I thought that would be a good size to start with too.

Ww, barons, studs, green weenies, anything that looks generally the same from the top as it does the bottom. I loose about half as many nymphs thanks to jig hooks!
