I use a cheap plano spinning tackle box.
My vice, light, and necks fit nicely in the huge bottom bin.
And the 2 compartmented trays are great for all the hooks, tools, and other tying materiel

I use a cosmetic bag that came when I bought luggage. It has a dozen or so compartments, some zipper and some velcro.

this thread came up a while ago i think it was bruno that mentioned a portable file carrier would be a great materials carrier and could even potentially carry a vice and is easily stowed under a seat

edit:

a clamp that fits over a tailgate wouldnt be a bad idea just dont scratch yer paint

I use an old book bag with tons of pockets in it. I have all my hooks in a large segmented tackle box. It's not as organized as others, but it keeps everything separate and is easy to just toss on the shoulder and go.
