Been tying many years but just recently bought some Utc 140 thread. I like that it goes on flat. It does lose its lay and the frizz catches on my horny fingertips. I like a slim quill Gordon and somewhat tapered red quill and the Utc helps finetune the taper. Is the 140 mostly standard sizes and the 70 heavier or do I have it backward?

You have it backwards. From smaller to bigger it goes 70, 140, 210.
