Show of hands?

Its been ages since I've tied some swap flies; and with the recent talk of steelhead, I cant help but think about the other fall fishing season.

As for the number of participants, I'll make the magic number 12...give or take depending on interest. A full swap of 12 tiers = a minimum of 11 flies per person. But as always, tying an extra 5 leaves one for each of the mods plus dkile...so do it!

As of now, lets shoot for Oct 1st as a due date. I'll send out a PM with my address once the swap fills up.

This will be my first time assuming host duties, so bear with me. Either way, it will be fun...so why not? Pick your favorite bunker, sand eel, shrimp, anchovie, or any other pattern for that matter. Share some of your ties, and/or stock up for the salt jam.

I'm game been looking for a salt swap to come up for a while.

I will play , been awhile since I was in a salt swap

Hopefully this will get me tying more regularly again. In. Pattern to be determined.

I'm in but only two Mods fish the Salt Afish and FishIdiot

I'm in...pattern is tbd.

I will do a Sand Eel pattern

Sounds like a good swap, but I don't fish in salt or I would partake.

I'd respectfully request that you not send me any flies from this swap.

Thanks,
Dave W

Flies from anyone. I usually donate to charity (or friends who don't tie) flies that are sent to me and I don't have a individual/organization that could use salt flies. That's all.

Not a problem FI...thanks for the heads up.

As of now I count 6 participants (including myself):

marcq
wetflyguy
GRP
Fred
sniper

I'll close the swap to entries this coming sunday (8/12). If more people don't join by then (I was planning on a dozen-ish), I was thinking we could each:

a) double up the amount of flies we tie, or

b) pick a second pattern and tie two flies for each participant.

This way, (assuming we end up w/ 6 people) everyone ties 10 flies plus any extras. Even if the list of swappers is small, I figured this would help to keep your efforts worthwhile.

Thoughts or objections?

I like the two pattern idea. I'll most likely be doing a peanut pattern and or some epoxies.

Hey Dave you can mail me some of your sculpin and helgy patterns if you want .

two pattern idea does sound good.
What is the due date for flys?

I'm in depending on the due date...I'm running low on salt hooks right now...

I'll set the due date for Oct 1st.

Also, I'll send out a PM w/ my address this weekend, once we have a final list of tiers.

Pattern one is a silicone mullet/attractor:

I'm still set on a second fly, but I'm thinking something smaller and more realistic.

I'm in...ordered a bunch of stuff yesterday

Haven't decided what to tie yet...
