Nice, in the appropriate size I'm thinking it'll make a nice brown stone. Looks like one of those flies that'll pass for several buggy things quite nicely.

Pattern
Size, the one pictured is on a #16 beadhead hook, Orvis Tail, pheasant tail. Body, amber turkey biot. I coat thread base with head cement. Then wrap boit. Thorax, peocock herl. Also wrapped over head cement. Legs brown partridge. Wing case brown scud back. Sometimes I use pearl flash over top. Bead, copper tung. Thread, light brown 8/0. My goal was to do a PT which may hold up a bit longer. Seems to work. Fish seem to like it. Thanks, gencon

Nice fly, I'm with "nymph" I think it would pass for several buggy things too. It is always handy to have a few patterns like that in the box.

Usually some type of rib is necessary to keep a biot from falling apart pretty quickly. Laying it down on the glue base must do the trick. Nice tie. Should be very good in #16.

McSneek, yes winding the biot over the glue base surely seems to make a difference. I have tried ribbing it with wire but don't really like the way it looks. I have caught 6 - 7 fish on one that has not fallen apart. I also soak the biot before winding it.
Thanks, Gencon
