Hackle size gauge

Here's a Hackle size gauge that I have used for over 25 years. Feel free to download it to use. Just push a pin through the center of the circle. I put a sheet of foam or thick cardboard under the sheet. Bend your hackle around the pin to see what size it is. I try to get the hackle to fall in between the 2 circles.

I use the griffin hackle gauge, it fit over the shaft of myv vice.

Thanks for posting that Brad! The nice thing about printing them is you can make different gauges for different hook gapes or for different styles of dryfly. Also you can make one side dark and one side light for better contrast with the hackle. On the other hand, you can just eyeball off the hook. Different strokes...
