Started this one on tuesday night, finished it yesterday.

First photo the fly has had one coat of cellire, last photo, the head is unfinished.

Hook is an antique Allcock 2811 Size 2 8XL, just like Carrie Stevens used to tie her flies, in hand! I only wish i'd had larger Silver pheasant for the cheeks, so I"ll likely strip the hook and retie the fly again when I get a new silver skin

Very nice. Where did you find the hook? Not that I'm gonna run out and buy some. The Martinek hooks suffice for my occasional and pedestrian flies. Gray Ghosts are one of my favorites. Your head is a lot neater that Carrie used to get them.

Thanks for the compliments...I only put one coat of cellire on the head on purpose, as most of the heads of stevens flies that i've seen (albeit in books) seemed to be done like that. I mean, they werent perfectly formed shiny heads...

Hook was a freebie from a buddy. Hoping i can get some more.
Occasionally they come up for sale on ebay.

By Jove I think he's got it, nicely done.

Beautiful, can I get a dozen?

If you supply the allcock hooks, I'll tie you a dozen
