With the grannoms starting up I was wondering if anybody had any effective patterns and recipes they would like to share to an intermediate tier.

Kelso,

a peacock and partridge and a leadwing coachman are probably my biggest producers during the grannom hatch, and an elk hair caddis with plenty of hackle works well when they are fluttering on the surface.

peacock caddis with or without any hackle (i prefer flush floating without but many like it to skitter easier with hackle) and a peacock soft hackle

for the egg layers I use chartreuse ice dubbing to make a bright egg sac seems to work ok but probably not necessary

What evw659 said. I put a green egg sack on the coachman type wet. Like everyone else, I put a bright green egg sack on the fly and it seems to work well. However, ALL natural caddis I have seen have a dark, drab olive egg sack. Not bright at all. Does anyone have thoughts on the egg sack color - is the color unimportant, is it more of a hot spot trigger, etc.
