Looks nice hammerhead.
Can't really tell what method you used there. But it looks like it might be similar to a way that I use to make extended bodies: tie in a length of heavy mono to the hook shank - leaving a tail hang out over the hook bend. Then tie in some tail materiel that sticks out even further along the mono. Then dub a tapered body out to the end of the mono and back. You can even rib it if you'd like Makes a nice looking and flexible extended body.

I have a nor vise, my wife bought me one for Christmas.
Those things are great.. Talk about a cool vise. I seen the same article in Fly tier.

I do not have a norvise which gave me alot of headaches when trying to wrap the needle with the dubbing! But I think the final result turned out pretty decent.
Dry fly- I clamped a sewing needle in my vise. Wax the end of the needle. wrapped the end in dubbing. added a tail. wrapped more dubbing. head cement and slide off needle before it dries. bend shape of tail and allow to dry. then tie in to body of fly.
