I am trying to get my tying skills back to where they were when I took a "chores" detourl to finish the basement. I am trying to tie one of my go to flies- a BH PT nymph in size 16. Question. When I tie in the 6 fibers to make the legs, does anyone have advice to get the fibers to go below and behind the bead. Dave Hughes' book shows variations on the theme for PT but no BH. Any help would be appreciated.

PS. When I get frustrated I tie a woolly bugger or 2 to remind myself that I can still do this. ;-)

Gene, if you are making the legs from the remaining strands from the wingcase, try a lighter first wrap, then pull the strands down before cinching up tight. You may be cinching the strands too tight on the wingcase pull over and then it's preventing you from adjusting them downward to make legs.

Try leaving a little more room behind the bead. If you are crowding the bead you lose control of the material.
