I just joined the site a few days ago, and figure it's time to stop lurking and say "hi." I've been out of the water for a long time, but I am ready to get back into it. I'm looking to buy a new rod, and have been looking at the Cortland Pro Cast 9' 5wt... Does anyone have any experience with this rod? I would like to know your opinion of it if you do. Or, should I be looking at the Cortland Pro Cast 444 combo? I'll be fishing the Pine, Little Pine, Lycoming and Loyalsock, among other creeks in my area. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Welcome aboard, sorry never fooled with that set up before. But have no fear I'm sure someone on here has and will be along directly.

Welcome.

I've never cast the rod in question. I've cast a much touted Cortland 3wt, and that particular rod might make a decent 5wt. My point is you ought to go cast it for yourself. Similar to our tastes in women, most of us have different ideas of what we like in a fly rod.

Welcome to the jungle!

Welcome aboard. GG
