The fishing on the river is poor right now, her regular campers are going to local lakes to catch fish.
So I am not so pumped anymore.....maybe a shorter distance from York, I am on the fence.

Yeah, I'm going to cancel also! The hot, shallow water and long drive is not worth the trouble to do the float. I'll see you guys at Steelhead time?

Deep lakes are a little cooler with this Global Warming. Bluegills, perch, and crappie are a awful lot of fun with a 3wt! Maybe more fun than carp?

PS- I have the same Stetson hat, Mo!! Last year, Cabelas on Sale? My friends call me the "Amish Cowboy"

Well I think I am still....supposed to get rain all week. Sam wants to go, trying to get off Friday from work to get there early Friday.

DaveS, are you staying at the Susky Sholes CG?

Mo,
If that's the one linked to the thread, then yea. I'll get there prob. 8-ish Friday night. I'll have the white Dodge PU with the 2-man toon. And a case of cold beer. Look for me, we'll have a few together!

I'll be heading up tomorrow late afternoon and camp both fri and sat. I'm pretty sure Mo is getting there fri too. I've been moving the canoe around, now my back is hurting....sipping a bourbon, that usually helps........until I run out of bourbon.

Fred,

Don't insult Surf too much. He's one of the most knowledgeable and skilled SW surf fly-fishing guys I know (not to mention FW FFing). You would learn a lot by hanging with him.

Count me in as well. I'm coming up Saturday morning (we're still meeting at 10AM right?) I'm bringing my one-man pontoon to float, I don't think I'll be camping though but we'll see.

The River is near normal for the date and is now rising slightly, probably because of some storms upriver. Floating should be okay with some dragging, and wading should be no problem at all.

The weather forecast is for a high near 90* with mostly sunny skies and a chance of T-storms.

The meet up time is 10am at the Park & Ride off RT 81 & the PA TPK.

We will wait up until 10:15. I suggest you print out the Google map I posted that marks the put-in and take-out for directions. If you are late, you can follow that map and meet up with us.

For those staying Friday nite, I would expect the caravan to arrive at the Apple Tree launch at around 10:45. There we will park some vehicles and drive the rest up to the launch at Falls.

It should be fun. I'm looking forward to it.

As some of you know, I'm coming over to the dark side (well not totally) but cannot make it this year. Hopefully I'll be able to join you if you do this again next year. Good fishing and safe travel to all of those attending.
