It would make sense that the colorful ones are eating a higher ratio of bugs in the broken water, where as the chrome ones are eating more baitfish in the pools. Curious observation either way. Now, I do not fish the yough very often, so I have by no means surveyed a sizable population. The ones I have caught are definitely unique fish though. Stout for their length, and extremely shiny.

Don't ask alby for advise on rod holders. His usually involve a car window, trunk, tree branch, large fish, or other item holding his rod in multiple pieces.

I need to get down to the Yough one of these days soon. Prob doing a rafting trip there for a bachelor party in August... might have to sneak my gear along with me.

After dunking just one rod and you're going to come up with a plan?

You can use an old gym bag. Put dividers in it and Velcro it to your boat. Last year, I almost built a little pvc rack with a cord over the top to keep the rods secure. I'd have to remove it everytime we stacked the boats so I scratched that idea.

If you make something for your rear deck to hold all of the crap we take (12 fly boxes, beer, rain gear, emergency kit, etc), you can use the bag on the left side to hold your rods. Should be able to carry 3 rods w/o any issues.

Looks like you guys had a nice float. Sorry I couldn't make it. If another Yough float is going to occur in the next few weeks keep me in the loop as I should be in town this time.

Nice Fish Alby!
