Fished the C&R section for 3 hours on 3/19. Landed 2 and lost 4, all on a black BH wooly bugger. Beautiful browns, 13 and 14 inches. Two of those lost were bigger, and two smaller.

Only saw one trout rising, he/she was small but I tried a BWO #18 and had no luck. The lie was really difficult and couldn't get a drag free drift.

What a beautiful creek, I will surely return as often as possible.

I will be heading to Bedford to visit my girlfriend's family Easter weekend and would like to give the yellow creek a try. I'm fairly familiar with the area, but do not know where fly fishing only section is located. Is it near the New Frontier Restaurant where the stream crosses Route 36?

its back that road nex to the resteraunt. I forget how far, but you will cross the stream. There is a saw mill looking place right after the bridge. Not alot of parking donw there. There is a parking section before that but I have never gone that way.

The FFO area is upstream of the bridge. Very nice section, you'll enjoy it as long as the weather cooperates. You also can fish downstream of the bridge for a little stretch before hitting private property. But I guess that stretch won't be officially "open" by easter weekend.
