vcregular,

I hear what you are saying. I can fish valley any day I want, I drive over it on the way home from work daily. Probably won't fish it this weekend cause I don't want to be out in that heat either!

I talked to a guy over at Valley, hes on this board and a member of VFTU, he mentioned a fish kill to me that happened last year I believe and he said it was from the fish being electroshocked and not revived properly. He said about 200 fish were killed. Is this perhaps what you are referring to with the kills or are these unrelated incidents?

I just started fishing there this year and promptly joined VFTU as it was clearly obvious from the stream improvements I saw there alone how much they were helping that stream. I haven't made it to a meeting yet but I hope to soon.

Jay, we gotta meet up over there one day after work!

I agree about fishing it when the water's warm. When the conditions feel unsafe, I usually avoid it.

Timmy,

I'd be happy to meet you out there. I have alot to learn about that stream, and wouldn't mind sharing some tactics with others.

vcregular,

I agree with you. We should be mindful of the conditions at Valley Creek and we should appreciate the opportunity to fish there. Also, we should treat it as a special place because it is one of the few native trout streams in the area.

i found this and some of you may enjoy it. In the Results section it talks about temperature effects on the stream. Looks like the main culprit for high fluxuations is storm water runoff.Valley Creek
