Valley Creek, 3/31/07 and 4/2/07

I fished Valley Creek above the Metal Bridge on both these days.

On 3/31/07, I got a few hours in before dark from 3:30-7:30pm. There was some good bug activity coming off the water in the form of midges and a few BWOs. I managed to catch one 9" brown.

On 4/2/07, I got off work early and fished from 1:00-4:30pm. I saw some fish rising when I first got there directly under the Metal Bridge. I cast a small caddis to them but only got one hit and didn't set the hook. Worked up-stream and managed to spook a bunch of fish due to clumsiness, but didn't get any strikes. I found a group of about 5-8 fish feeding on midges couldn't get them to take my midge pattern in size 22, the smallest I had on me. I tied on a small black wooly bugger and got one strike from the group but that was it. Called it a day after that because I had to rush back home to give my wife the car. Very disappointed.
