Nice report. Wow the water looks low.

The "loop" should probably be referred to as the Great Bend

I dig it. So let it be written...

wonder it the fishing is better without the dam slowing the flow.

I think so - there's some nice water above. There's still a lot of sediment behind the dam yet though. One can clearly see how all the rocks are filled in compared to the rest of the river.

I guess it was low-ish, but about normal for this time of year. The pics are taken at weird angles - and from sections where the river is braided around islands so you're not seeing the whole channel...

Bill, I'm ready to pay it forward whenever you are. If you'd be interested in making the trip up there let me know. Probably more of a hike-and-wade game than a float, though.

There were nice trouts close to your location. I'm quite sure of it.

PJ - I've read your reports on the lower river. Definitely going to have to check it out. This past weekend was my first time on the Susky.

i went out to fish after work tonight and did well in area around hunlock getting around 20 smallies and one about 4lb and also fished into hunlock creek where there are trouts. this is a good area to fish and susky has been fishing good this year a lot better than other years. i went above route 11 up into creek and not catch any big trouts like last time but got lots in 10in range of mostly brown trouts. water is low and clear and most of smallies are near shore and was doing good using 7in senko worm rig wacky hook. i try fly rod for smallies but do better with spin gear so i fish spin gear for smallie and use my new fly rod for trouts.
