Slippery Rock Creek, Lawrence County 6/8/11

Took an early morning trip out to the good ol' SRC today. I fished from 6am to 10am. Air temp was mid-low 60s when I started but quickly warmed up as the Sun rose higher in the sky. Woolly buggers, crayfish patterns, and assorted dry flies all failed to yield result. No real top water action except for a few explosive smallmouth.

Though I had no luck with the fishes today, condition were pretty good. Creek was a good level, barely above normal for this time of year, and only a bit off color. When the Sun hit the water as the morning went on, it appeared to be murkier than it really was due the light refracting off of particulates. If you are going to head out in the next few days, I recommend going as early as possible due to the rapid temperature increase.
