Well, at least I know that I wasn't far off on my assessment. You've been at this a lot longer than me and for you to say that, at least I know I'm not seeing things (because I really wasn't)!

spectorfly is right, i don't think it got its alotted 500 fish if that's the number. poaching is a problem with locals but i have to consider the herons.... who when i fish the park i always spook the same 2 birds every time. i was told that they are still hanging around the quittie because of the abnormal warm weather were having. i can't even guess on the number of fish 2 birds might take on a stream like this, its about 3/4 mile for the DHALO section. when i was there it was a little low and crystal clear. can anybody else guess on numbers with a poacher like this?
NOTE: i carry my cell phone for picture taking all the time fishing and i can't get close enough for a pic of these birds without spooking them.

I've seen the Herons also but I was there about a week after they were supposed to stock it and didn't catch or see much that trip either. Don't think they could do that much damage that quickly

I guess a leopard can't change its spots after all...

If 500 fish were stocked in that creek, they must have been having one hell of a party somewhere!!!

One other thing I noticed last time is that some of the special regulation signs were ripped off the trees.

I did notice that some of them were torn in half. The posted stretch did seem to have more than its fair share of signs though. Certainly shouldn't be a secret to anyone what the regs are.

I am sure most do but my guess is that those who tore the signs probably flaunt the rules as well.

I have a buddy who says he catches most of the fish he gets there 100 yards or so below the downstream end of the project, so maybe it's better holding water. I don't know for sure, as I've never fished it, but that's what I've been told.

Quittie sucks...I did catch a 19" palomino out of the sp. reg. area, but the area was largely devoid of any fish. I believe I saw three other fish that day. The stream had a nice gentle flow, and was easily fished, but there was a real lack of appreciable cover/holding water. Overall, I was thoroughly unimpressed...I hit Bachman Run nearby and did much better.
