I fished it also Friday night just before full moon last week. It was fine. Even checking water temps during the day on Thurs up stream from Barree it was mid to upper 60s. Friday night it was low to mid 60s. All fish were in fine shape. I think the birds put more stress on them that weekend than anything else on the water. We had a real good blast of a thunder storm early Saturday AM, would have liked to have fished it after that but had other places to be.

imho, the only parts of the catch and release on the little j to worry about currently are from ironville bridge down to the big springs at grier, and from the end of the espy water down to the mouth. from the big springs at grier downstream to the lower espy water( probably 8 or 9 miles) will be mid sixties or lower at peak temp (6 pm) ill be there in the morning for the first time in a month or so armed with big, articulated streamers, my new iso nymph creation, and much more.

I forgot, I tried to catch Trikes on Spring in the AM, but arrived too late. Small BWOs were started and small blck upright things in size 18-20 were the ticket from about 10 AM to 11 AM, last picture is the LJR:

It was more like-- leave the house 1 hour behind schedule, drive to PSU. Run up and down to daughter's apartment with boxes and bins and bags. Take off for nearby water. Arrive at 9:30 instead of 8:15. No Trikes in the air. Begin blind-casting trike imitations. Get ignored until a small dark baetis dry is used. Catch a few over the next couple hours, even resorting to bobber fishing. Sun gets hot, fishing stinks badly, return to daughter's abode. Assemble TV stand and hook all electronics up for entertainment center. Wish her good luck and leave for home. Halfway home, I need a drink. Drinking and driving is illegal. Drinking and fishing is not.

It is great having the little J on the way home from state college. It's always a nice plan B (when its not on the main course of course).

Spruce Creek Tavern I assume. A regular stop for me.

To confess, it was a half-pint of Jim Beam at the PA Spirits Store in Tyrone. I didn't finish it.

Daughter doesn't want Dad around except to carry heavy boxes and fix electronic items. Her mom showed up with the other half of bins, bags and boxes and fought it out with the roommates. I pop in, make like the hero and get all the TVs, DVDs and sound systems working, then pop out before the schit hits the phan.
