Both streams were in great shape overall. Temps in the mid-50s, average flow for this time of year, some greenish tint to Meadow.
I made a decision to stick with dries on this trip. Here's the breakdown.

Laurel Hill: Fished lower project water. Caught a few on March Browns. No real size but I did see one pig bow approaching 24" -- problem is, he saw me. Saw caddis, BWO, March browns, crane flies, a couple green drakes.

Meadow Run: Fished from the cascades up to the park office... when I could find a place to fish that is. I should've known that over the Holiday weekend, everyone and their brother would be using that stream. HOWEVER, the bugs were significant. March Browns, Green Drakes, caddis and a bright green caddis looking thing with distinct double wings. I caught many fish in the pocket water between pools (where the people were). Evening coffin fly appearance was significant.

This stream's improvement in insect life is quite astonishing. From a basically sterile stream 35 years ago, to a drake hatch that rivals most streams I've been lucky enough to experience. It's a shame that it often warms up too much in hotter summers.

Thanks for the update ghost. I hit a great BWO hatch there 2 weeks ago, and really enjoy the surroundings of Laurel Hill. I hope to hit it again soon before the upcoming 90 degree temps!!
