after the horrid rains that we have had all over pa, alot of fish have escaped the hatcheries and are living good lives in the free flowing streams. the tully is one of these streams. loads of trout are swimming and eating. rising and splashing. the only thing i cant figure is that they are not acting like a normal wintertime trout. usually trout stick close to the bottom in the deepest of holes in the winter. they are also slow to eat and presentations must be adjusted accordingly. what i have found here is that the fish are extremely active and eat just about everything presented in just about every manner. we hit the stream about 1:30 and only fished till 3:00. each of us caught at least a dozen of really dark colored rainbows. they ate midges, nymphs, buggers and eggs. what a blast! im going back towmorrow morning!
