I have been watching for the last few weeks for fly activity and today at 2:30 Pm I saw the first Hendrickson for the year. I expect to see flys for about a week or more. As most know the weather plays a big part in what will happened so do not shoot me if it is not your day I am only the messanger. Also have some Grannoms on hand you will be seeing them soon.

On opening day I fished with a few friends on the Breeches. About 9:30 the Grannoms started to come off and for about 3 hours the wild Browns eat them up. Everyone did well. After lunch it slowed down so we fished a section on the lower Breeches and there was nothing going on. Seeing a trusted friend I asked about the fishing and he commented on the lack of fly (surface activity). A few miles can make a big difference in Hatches. I guess the lesson is to move around until you hopefully find what you are looking for.
