The fishing on the West Branch has been really great lately.

From Deposit up, there was some awesome sulfur fishing in the evenings, with most fish being taken on thorax style sulfurs, and a couple on emergers.

From Deposit down, I found BWO's with Trico's mixed in, but didn't focus on this section of river too much.

Thursday in Deposit there were also a fair amount of lime green stoneflies in the air, along with some golden stones about a #10.

Midge activity was constant of course.

The bigger fish were all taken on nymphs, mainly LARGE brown stoneflies, sulfur nymphs, and a #22 Bead Head Pheasant Tail being the top fly.

Water temps 2 miles above Deposit were in the mid 40's, and at Hales Eddy they were around 58-60 (didn't take a reading at HE, but should be within a couple degrees)

If you plan on nymphing, keep your flies off of the bottom from the Catch and Release area up. The river bottom is 80% mossed over.

Tight Lines,
Michael Foreman

HaHa. I was wondering if you were still around. What's been going on?

Haven't fished the black stone in awhile, but the golden and brown stones are tied in the same style.

I'm only an hour away from the W.B. now :) But now it's time for salmon, steel, and huge browns man!!
