Friday we arrived at Deposit to find a quick shower had raised the river from around 600 cfs to around 850cfs and made it off color and murky. No fear! We met our client at the Deposit motel and took him for a friday night streamer run CCAS style. Streamer action was decent with three nice browns to coming to the boat and a nice lost opportunity that came unhooked at the last minute right before reaching the net. Fish landed were in the 18-19" class with the one one estimated at around 20-22". Fish were taken on Olive, White and Tan Streamers. Absolutely no evening dry action to speak of on the upper river. No risers and no spinners, pretty odd for this time of year!

Saturday floated the upper to middle half of the WBDE. Today the complete opposite of Friday, water had fallen to around 700 and cleared back to normal. Even though we started at 6am in a thick smoke, streamer action was non-existent, not even a follow! However our client worked it out with nymphs catching a nice rainbow and several really nice browns. Middle river produced a nice hatch of summer sulphurs 16-18's. Fish were very picky and we managed to hook a few on midges after they flat out refused every sulphur dun and emerger we would throw at them, Over all conditions on the WBDE are pretty tough right now with hatches slowing down.

CCAS will be off the local rivers from June 28th through July 7th due to making our western swing through Bozeman, MT. Stay tuned from out annual Bighorn Report from Ft. Smith and some reports from Yellowstone National Park.
