The big Muddy
No, not the mighty Mississippi, but the Yough did resemble it in color recently. Aside from that period of mud and high water, the river has been fishing well, very well actually with the cooler temps and cloud cover that we've had since the river cleared up.
Dry fly fishing has picked up considerably with the relatively stable flows the Army Corps has been running from the dam, and we have been taking some big fish on top—just yesterday we had three fish over eighteen hooked up on dries, but we only landed two of them. One was a brown that measured an even twenty inches.
Attractors will work when there is no specific hatch to match, and terrestrials of all shapes and sizes will take fish as well.
Good luck out there,
