Fishing in southeastern, PA has been really good. Flows are perfect right now. Carp have been pretty active. Its not uncommon to find large pods of tailing carp if they are present in the stream. Carp ticklers and damsel fly nymphs have been producing carp.

Small attractor nymphs have been producing trout. Been a skimpy year on hatches for me this year so far. I cannot believe how little dry fly fishing I have done for trout. Oh well, terrestrial season is here.

Here is a short video from yesterday of a really fat brown I caught on a pheasant tail nymph in skinny water.

Wow. I never make a silly post and simply say "nice fish", so I will say that brown in the video is enviable . . .

Incredible brown, was it from the same stream as the carp?

I THINK I recognize the stream where the carp is taken (at least in the top pic), and I can't believe any trout, especially trout like that, would live in that stream!

Not in Lancaster County. These were taken from different locations.

I know the stream. It does have a reputation for giving up some nice fish from time to time.

wow Nick, that first brown is gorgeous. a really nice loch leven strain.

i have to say by the shape too that that fish has been mostly living in fast water - he has the head and shoulders very similar to an Atlantic, land lock, or sea run/lake run brown.

a really really gorgeous fish, shaped like a shark rather than a football like the 2nd brown.

fantastic catch.
