After a long winter, things are finally starting to pick up in the Yough drainage. Warming air and water temperatures are finally giving the river the jump start that it has needed over the last few weeks, and the fish have been responding well.

Big flows from the Casselman and the dam have made covering water with streamers and sinking lines the best program to follow if you want to bring fish to hand. As an added bonus, scratching the bottom of some of the slower pools with the same rig has put a few pre-spawn bass in the boat as well and is a fun way to add some variety to the day.

Hatching bugs seemed to have thinned a bit in numbers since our last trip, but keeping a few black stones, BWO's, and your favorite grannom patterns around will have you ready to fish to the risers that will begin poking their heads up as the flows (hopefully) recede.

Pictured below are a couple of nicer fish from the last two weekends. Check out this year's gallery for a few more pics.

We are currently booking for the 2013 season, and we've added several new guides to the lineup this year, including some warmwater specialists, so if you've been waiting to book a trip with LHGS, give us a try this year. We've got the river covered top to bottom--you won't be disappointed.

Here's to a great season!
