Well the rain may have put a damper on the world series baseball game, but it has done wonders for the steelhead fishing. Fish have been caught everyday this week. Mike Hilf from Steelhead trips guide service said there are so many fish that they were swimming right up between their legs as they were in the creek. Many anglers have been catching 25 or more fish. All the main holes are the hot spots, and today should prove to be outstanding as well with no rain last night or so far today. They are calling for rain this late afternoon but by then we could probably use some to keep the creeks flowing good. The top baits being reported are egg sacs, skein and jigs with grubs. There hasn't been anyone out on the lake but the perch fishing is still doing pretty good in Presque Isle Bay area. Keep the bait flying and the steelhead jumping.
