Staying up all night has its advantages. I've been waiting for some kind of magic with all of the Hex spinners hanging around the river. So far I haven't seen any concentrated spinner fall. I fished the Allegheny from about midnight 'til 1am and then 5am 'til about 6am. At 5am the water got really active. The bass were taking big rubber-legged poppers. I eventually switched to a coffin fly poly wing spinner because it was the closest thing to a Hex that I had. I'm not really sure of the identity of the last fish pictured. I originally thought it was an Alewife but after some looking around, I think it might be what's called a Mooneye. I'm not sure though. Any thoughts on the ID would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
